IPC SHOOTING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS SPAIN

Information on up-coming events

IPC World Track & Field Championships - 9 - 16 August, 1998 - Birmingham, UK
The team departs Australia on Sunday, 2 August, and returns home on Wednesday, 19 August.    Eighteen members of this team will be competing in cerebral palsy events.    We wish them all the very best as they represent their country.

IPC World Cycling Championships - 17 - 20 September, 1998 - Colorando Springs, USA
Two of our Atlanta Paralympic CP Cycling team, plus three others, will be part of the team travelling to this competition.

IPC World Swimming Championships - 7 - 17 October, 1998 - Christchurch, New Zealand
Co-captain, CP swimmer, Priya Cooper, and other swimmers with cerebral palsy will be part of this squad travelling to Christchurch.

 


Events already completed in 1998

IPC World Boccia Championships - New York - June 1998
This competition has just concluded.   Australia was represented at this event, with our best performance coming from Lyn Coleman of Brisbane, who came fourth in her CP1 class.   Well done Lyn!

Winter Paralympic Games
Held in Nagano, Japan, in March 1998.   Congratulations to Cerebral Palsy skier James Patterson of NSW who won gold and bronze for Australia in his events.

World Records Fall in 1998

Congratulations to:

Brian Harvey, a CP8 Atlanta Paralympic Gold medallist who broke the world record for javelin with a throw of 40.57 m

Chris Scott, who broke his own world record for 1000m cycling time trial with a time of 1.11.44.
